How was the charity started ?

For nearly ten years, Felicia has catered for the orphans and widows in her community, specifically providing them outfits for Christmas and a little bit of food each year. She always did this out of her pocket, saving up from January to November of each year and then quietly giving these items out without letting anyone other than her immediate family know.

Even when she struggled financially, she never wavered in reaching out to this group of people each year. In her own words, she wanted them to know they were not alone when everyone was surrounded by family. She did not want them to feel downtrodden or out of place in a season of celebration.

In 2021, Felicia was planning together with her daughter Deborah to start a charity, not knowing that her life will end so abruptly. Now, Deborah has joined efforts with the other members of the family and made it happen.

They decided to name it AyoNike, which is an amalgamation of Felicia and her husband's names. They always did everything together and it is fitting that this should be in both their names. It would have pleased her greatly.
